Autonomous Robotics for Field and Site Operations
This research direction focuses on embodied intelligence for physical operations in mobile infrastructure and agricultural environments. The goal is to develop robotic systems that can perceive, navigate, inspect, monitor, and assist with field tasks that are currently costly, repetitive, slow to scale, or risky for human teams.
Applications include site inspection, visual verification, sensing of power and cooling systems, environmental monitoring, inventory support, and autonomous assistance in remote or safety-critical settings. Over time, these systems can extend AI beyond software-only optimisation and into the physical layer of operations, improving safety, response times, and operational continuity.
